Whole Foods Market takes on mobile marketing for branding
Whole Foods Market has turned to the mobile channel for a branding initiative meant to position the brand as committed to bringing its customers additional value.
The company has launched an iPhone application, which is available now in the iPhone App Store. It is meant serve as an additional way to satisfy and delight customers by providing Whole Foods Market’s entire selection of over 2,000 online recipes to iPhone and iPod touch users. Read more
Ovum predicts short-term slowdown of mobile revenue growth
Ovum previously predicted that carrier service revenues would surpass $1 trillion in 2010, but due to the recession, the research firm now expects this barrier to be broken in 2011. Read more

Mobile Advertising to $5,7billion by 2014
In a blog posted on July 9, 2009 by The Mobile Marketer, we learn that:Juniper research reports about mobile advertising that will increase to $5,7billion by 2014. Constraints of budgets imposed by the global economic downturn had resulted in an increasing migration of adspend from above the line to below the line channels. But it seems that even then, mobile advertising will still form only a small part of a brand’s total advertising. Read more
The Mobile Internet : The Next Generation
After reading many articles on the trends for 2009 there seemed to be an overwhelming lean towards the mobile web. The iPod has certainly given the mobile web a virtual kick up the bum, and I believe it is a good thing. I say that the iPod is helping to change the way we access the Internet to get information. Many other phone manufacturers such as HTC and Nokia are also part of the explosion of mobile browsing.

According to an article published today in the Guardian, Nokia will launch this year their first smartphone based on Google's Android software. A Nokia smartphone built on the more and more popular open source platform Android could be a winning strategy.
